Just Helping People was started by a clinical social worker who recognizes that many of the people who work in the helping professions, including volunteers, do not have degrees or certifications but still want to provide the absolute best care that they can.
The articles in this blog are designed as answers to commonly asked questions and guidelines for practice that don't assume that the reader has a background in mental health or counseling. Just Helping People welcomes questions and will attempt detailed answers here in this space.
Future goals for Just Helping People are to develop training materials for front line staff members and volunteers at small agencies as downloads for affordable rates, as well as a forum where people in the helping professions can network and share information.
We will also search for and link to existing information on resources and information for communities throughout the US.
